Tottenham’s Kieran Trippier says he is determined to rediscover his best form after a poor season.

Trippier impressed for England at last year’s World Cup but his displays for Spurs have attracted plenty of criticism.

Speaking ahead of this weekend’s Champions League final against Liverpool, Trippier said he has been hampered by a groin issue and has no doubt he is capable of much better performances.

“The season’s gone now. I have to accept the way I’ve played this season,” he said.

“I know I can play so much better. But it’s about accepting it, looking back and reviewing it. It’s happened, the way I’ve played.

“There’s one big game left and, if I play, hopefully I can give everything to help the team win.”
