PL2: Spurs lose to Leicester as Chelsea beat Arsenal

Tottenham’s development side were beaten 2-0 at home by Leicester City on Friday evening.

Both goals came in the second half at Stevenage, where Spurs rallied late on but were unable to find the net.

Callum Wright put the visitors ahead by tucking away the loose ball after George Thomas’ free-kick had hit the post.

And George Hirst rounded off a slick Leicester move with a cool finish to seal their win.

Meanwhile, Charlie Brown scored twice as Chelsea’s development side beat Arsenal 3-1 to maintain their lead at the top of Premier League 2.

Billy Gilmour captained the team at Aldershot, where Clinton Mola scored their other goal.

Brown opened the scoring after being set up by Thierno Ballo, and Mola’s volley following Gilmour’s free-kick doubled the Blues’ lead.

Arsenal responded with a goal from Ben Cotterill shortly before half-time but Brown’s goal 11 minutes after the interval sealed Chelsea’s win.

Gilmour, who recently made his first-team debut, was involved again, this time delivering a perfect cross for Brown to head in from close range.
