Tottenham face competition from Southampton as clubs eye Eze

Tottenham reportedly face competition for QPR forward Ebere Eze.

Spurs were linked with the youngster last season and he is said to be among the talented English players being monitored by the North London club.

But The Sun on Sunday say Southampton are now showing an interest in Eze ahead of a possible January move.

Southampton’s director of scouting Ross Wilson has apparently watched the England Under-20 international, who has caught the eye for QPR since being snapped up after being released by Millwall.

Eze scored as Rangers came from behind to beat Wigan 3-1 at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium on Saturday.

They missed a heap of chances but got the goals they needed to give Mark Warburton his first home league win since taking over as manager.

“The only frustration, and I say this with all respect to Wigan, was that we should have had three or four more,” Warburton told West London Sport afterwards.

“There will be games when you have the odd chance and we have to take it. We’ve been guilty in the previous four games of not taking chances.

“So it’s a problem we’ve got to look at – 3-1 is great, enjoy the win, but we need to get better.”
