Spurs put off by Mitrovic asking price

Tottenham and Aston Villa have reportedly ended their interest in Fulham star Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Both Premier League clubs have been linked with the striker amid reports that they could make Fulham an offer during this transfer window.

But the Daily Star Sunday say neither is likely to make a move for him because of the asking price.

Fulham are said to be asking for £40m for Mitrovic – and Spurs and Villa see that as too much.

Mitrovic reportedly clause in his Fulham contract enabling him to leave this summer if the club miss out on promotion.

The chances of the Whites going up seem strong given their recent results and position in the table.

And boss Scott Parker is confident that he will be able to keep Mitrovic, whose goals were crucial in Fulham’s last promotion and will be needed once he returns from injury.

Parker, whose side are three points off the automatic promotion places, said: “ No, I’m not worried. He’s very committed.

“I feel like he’s in a good place and he’s leading scorer in the division. I think he has a sole aim of helping us reach our goal and being successful this year. I suspect everything will be fine in the next week.”
