Palace keen on QPR star Eze, Ferdinand confirms

Tottenham continue to be linked with Ebere Eze – but it’s Crystal Palace who seem to be most interested in the QPR star.

Spurs were tipped to move for Eze during the January transfer window and a number of other clubs were linked with him.

However, West London Sport reported ahead of the transfer deadline that it was Palace who had in fact made an approach for the England international and that Rangers had rejected their overtures.

And QPR director of football has confirmed that Palace did show an interest in the player.

Ferdinand said: “Crystal Palace made an enquiry but we never got to any fee or any negotiations in terms of what it was going to take. They made an enquiry about him and that was it.”

It seems inevitable that Eze will move on this summer – and that will give Rangers a chance to reinvest in their squad.

“I think [his future] is out of our hands. We may get an offer we can’t refuse,” Ferdinand told The Beautiful Game podcast, as reported by Teamtalk.com.

“We are trying to build something here but at the same time we know along the way we are going to lose one or two assets.

“Losing those assets will enable us to replenish the squad which because of Financial Fair Play and the way things work in the Championship, for us as a football club that is the only way we can survive and move forward.”
