QPR boss fires warning to clubs over Eze

Mark Warburton has insisted that QPR star Ebere Eze will not be sold on the cheap.

Tottenham and Crystal Palace are among the Premier League clubs to have been linked with Eze, whose reputation continues to grow.

The England Under-21 forward scored both goals in Rangers’ 2-0 win against Preston on Saturday, taking his tally for the season to nine.

Interest from big clubs would leave director of football Les Ferdinand and chief executive Lee Hoos with a decision to make on whether to sell Eze during the January transfer window.

But Rangers manager Warburton has insisted that any club keen on Eze will have to pay a sizeable fee.

The R’s are certain to want an eight-figure sum for the youngster, who was picked up in 2016 after being released by Millwall.

“Every player in the world has got a price,” Warburton told West London Sport.

“January will be interesting. If we go and try to buy a player for £1m they’ll want £2m. Likewise, if we sell one of our players it will be on QPR’s terms. Les, Lee and the board will do whatever they think is best for the good of QPR.

“He’s a very talented boy who’s working and learning every single day. Long may that continue.”
