Newcastle and Watford keen on Rose

Newcastle and Watford are both reportedly interested in signing Danny Rose from Tottenham.

The Daily Telegraph reports that Newcastle boss Steve Bruce, who wanted him in the summer, could make another move for him after left-back Jetro Willems suffered a season-ending knee injury.

The Magpies are said to favour a loan move but Spurs would reportedly prefer to sell the England international.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror say Watford are also keen on Rose and are monitoring the situation.

There has been speculation about Rose’s future for some time and youngster Ryan Sessegnon’s emergence seems to suggest a move is in the offing.

Spurs boss Jose Mourinho this week denied reports a bust-up with Rose had occurred after the player was left out of the squad against Watford.

“A disagreement between me and Danny? No. My relationship with my players is good and I love to work with my group,” Mourinho said at a press conference.

“I don’t have any problem with him. He was not selected against Watford and Middlesbrough. The reason he was not selected against Middlesbrough is we have a young left-back we want to develop and it was a great opportunity to play Sessegnon and also because [Rose’s] performance against Liverpool was not phenomenal.”
