England player ratings: How the London contingent fared at Wembley

England strolled to a 4-0 victory against Bulgaria in a one-sided game at Wembley on Saturday. Here’s how we rated each of the London contingent.

Danny Rose: 6
An easy outing for the Tottenham left-back, who wasn’t tested defensively and had the freedom of the flank to wander down. Denied a cracking individual goal when a late strike was blocked after he has evaded two challenges in the box.

Declan Rice: 6
West Ham’s Rice was out of position in the build-up to a couple of first-half chances for Bulgaria, but overall he was calm and composed in the midfield holding role he looks capable of making an impact in for England for years to come.

Ross Barkley: 5
The Chelsea man never really got going in a congested midfield. His passing was erratic and he created very little until a clever exchange of passes with Marcus Rashford created a late chance for the Manchester United forward.

Harry Kane: 9
It seemed to be shaping into a frustrating afternoon for the Tottenham striker as Bulgaria crowded the penalty box and England laboured in the opening stages. But Kane ended up with a hat-trick; tapping in the opener, emphatically sticking away two penalties – one of which he won himself – and created England’s other goal by nicking the ball and then setting up Raheem Sterling.

Mason Mount: 7
The Chelsea youngster showed plenty of promise after coming on for his England debut. He was lively, used the ball well and looked more than comfortable on the international stage.
