Tottenham will be without Dele Alli for Tuesday night’s Champions League opener against Inter Milan, the club have confirmed, while Kieran Trippier and Toby Alderweireld have also not travelled.

Spurs have announced that goalkeeper Hugo Lloris will miss out with a thigh injury and Alli with a hamstring strain.

Midfielder Moussa Sissoko is also sidelined by a hamstring problem and is unavailable for the match in Italy as well.

Spurs tweeted confirmation shortly before their pre-match press conference in Milan.

All three players missed Saturday’s 2-1 home defeat by Liverpool as a result of their injuries.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino said last week he expected Lloris to be out for a number of weeks.

Pochettino revealed at the press conference that Trippier and Alderweireld would also miss the game, describing it as a “technical” decision.

“It was a technical decision. You can find it in the dictionary, technical decision. Maybe tactical also on the pitch, yes, it’s tactical too,” he said.

“But it’s a technical decision. You cannot bring 25 players and can only play 11 and seven on the bench. That is the reason.”

Harry Winks has declared himself available despite ongoing ankle trouble.
