Boss responds to reports Tottenham are looking to sign QPR star

QPR boss Mark Warburton says he welcomes speculation over the future of Ebere Eze.

Reports have suggested that Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho could add the Rangers forward to his squad this month.

Speaking at a press conference, Warburton said such matters would be dealt with by director of football Les Ferdinand but that Eze seems happy at Loftus Road.

Warburton said: “That always goes through Les the director of football, that’s stuff. That’s above my pay grade, so to speak.

“You want you players to attract interest. That means they’re performing well for QPR. The more players attract Premier League interest, we’ll be in a good position.

“As always, a player should leave a club on your terms and if that’s the case everyone wins.

“I think he’s very happy. I think he’s enjoying his football.”

Rangers are in great form, having thrashed Cardiff 6-1 and Swansea 5-1 in their last two matches.

But they will face a tough task on Saturday against Warburton’s former club Brentford, who are third in the Championship table.

Warburton said: “We know we face a tough challenge, but we’ve scored 11 goals in two games and we go into the game full of confidence and looking forward to it.”
