QPR set to begin building work at new training ground

QPR are set to begin building work on their new training ground at Warren Farm.

West London Sport reports that pre-planning conditions such as an ecological management plan, construction and logistics plan and an archaeological service have now been completed, paving the way for building work to begin.

It follows an intense legal battle over the site in Southall, which QPR won despite strong local objections.

The new training base will be a huge boost for Rangers, who were given planning permission six years ago and have been desperate to leave their current training ground at Harlington, near Heathrow Airport.

Their immediate priority though is to bounce back against Middlesbrough this weekend after back-to-back defeats.

Manager Mark Warburton told the club’s website: “Going into the international break with a good three points, we’d be in a great position.

“The Championship is so relentless, you have to focus one game at a time and if anything isn’t quite right then you pay the price, as I have said before. We have to recognise the good performances we’ve put in at places like Millwall at Sheffield Wednesday, getting results there too.

“We are a good side and we need to remember that.”
