QPR duo must wait for their futures to be resolved

QPR duo Pawel Wszolek and Jake Bidwell have been told they will not be offered new contracts before the end of the season.

The contracts of both players expire this summer and director of football Les Ferdinand says there are no plans to hold talks with them until the campaign is over.

He told Football.London: “We’ve got options on Jake and Pawel contracts come the end of the season.

“What we’ve decided is that we’re going to leave it until the end of the season to sit down and talk to them as we get closer to the end of the season.”

Joel Lynch and Matt Smith are among the other players whose contracts at QPR are due to expire this summer.

Departures from the club are certain as Rangers continue to be restricted by Financial Fair Play rules.

Ferdinand said: “There’s a few (who are out of contract) and we can’t renew them all now, so we’ll have a look at it at the end of the season and see where we stand.

“It’s just where we are as a football club. I think that’s what people have to understand.

“It’s not a case of saying that we need to keep them at all costs, it’s about what we can do financially and where it sits with the club’s finances.”
