QPR boss Ian Holloway plans to make changes for his side’s League Cup first round clash with Northampton at Loftus Road.

Steven Caulker will start a match for the first time since last October, while new signing Alex Baptiste will be on the bench.

Speaking to Rangers’ website, Holloway said: “Steven Caulker will be looking to get through 90 minutes for us, which is fantastic.

“Alex is someone I know really well, and he will add to this group with his determination and his tenacity. He’s a winner, he wants to win.”

Holloway has also been tipped to include midfielders Ryan Manning and Ariel Borysiuk.

Borysiuk was a substitute against Reading on Saturday, while Manning was left out of the matchday squad.

“The team I selected for the Reading game won’t be the same as the one I pick for tonight because of the style of the team we are up against, we have to take that into account,” Holloway said.

“Who have I got to unsettle their style and hurt their style? That’s how we have to approach the game, but hopefully the team I pick will still have the same DNA when it comes to working hard for the shirt.”
