Jenkinson plays in Under-23 game

Carl Jenkinson and recent signing Cohen Bramall featured for Arsenal’s development side in a 1-0 defeat at Everton on Monday evening.

Jenkinson, who rejected a pre-deadline move to Crystal Palace, was given a run-out at Southport’s Merseyrail Community Stadium, where Premier League 2 leaders Everton won courtesy of a late goal.

It was scored by Nathan Broadhead with three minutes remaining and maintained his team’s six-point lead at the top.

Earlier on Monday, Crystal Palace’s development side beat Cardiff City 3-0.

There were also goals for Sullay Kaikai (pictured), Calvin Andrew and Jason Lokilo in a one-sided game at Beckenham.

Palace went ahead when Lokilo collected Kaikai’s pass and crossed for Andrews to score.

Andrews then set up Lokilo, who netted from close range to double Palace’s lead.

Kaikai completed the scoring when he found the bottom corner of the net with 16 minutes remaining.

Meanwhile, Mattias Kait scored the only goal of the game as Fulham’s Under-23s beat Middlesbrough 1-0 at Motspur Park.

And Ravel Morrison played the full 90 minutes for QPR’s second string in a 2-2 draw with Charlton.

Reece Grego-Cox scored both goals for the home side, while Charlton’s were both scored by Mikhail Kennedy.
