Youngster makes pledge after being long-term contract by Chelsea

Youngster Trevoh Chalobah has pledged to keep on working hard after being given a new long-term contract by Chelsea.

The 18-year-old brother of former Blues midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal at Stamford Bridge.

He was on the bench for Chelsea’s recent 1-0 defeat at Manchester City after being called into the senior squad for the first time.

Chalobah has impressed at youth level and the midfielder says he is determined to keep developing as a player now he has been rewarded by the club with a new deal.

“It’s great and I think it shows the hard work I’ve put in,” Chalobah told Chelsea’s website.

“For me being at this club for a long time, it shows my development and now I have to just keep on going.

“It’s important now that I don’t relax, keep my head down to work hard and focus on the big games coming up.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s Under-18s are two more wins away from retaining the league title after winning 4-1 at Brighton on Friday evening.

Charlie Brown, Billy Gilmour, George McEachran and Clinton Mola scored as Chelsea recorded a 10th consecutive victory and moved 12 points clear at the top of the table.
