Report: Chelsea boss Sarri planning to ditch Azpilicueta

The Daily Star claim Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri wants to bring in Napoli full-back Elseid Hysaj and that it could lead to Cesar Azpilicueta being phased out.

Albania international Hysaj played under Sarri at Napoli and is a more attacking full-back than the dependable Azpilicueta.

And the Star claim Sarri wants to add more pace to his attack by bringing in Hysaj, who has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge for some time.

The Star declare that Sarri is lining up a move for Hysaj, “spelling the end for Azpilicueta.”

Meanwhile, Sarri has held a clear-the-air meeting with his players, the Daily Mail say.

Sarri launched an astonishing attack on his side after their defeat at Arsenal, questioning their attitude and motivation.

The Mail say Sarri still has support from a majority of Blues players but that some are privately questioning his decisions.

The newspaper say “there is bemusement” over Sarri’s decision to deploy Eden Hazard as a striker, for example.

And The Daily Mirror claim Chelsea are interested in Bristol City winger Antoine Semenyo, who is currently on loan at Newport.

Manchester United have also been linked with the 19-year-old, who is regarded as a major prospect and was previously reported to have attracted the interest of Tottenham.
