Pedro is a doubt for Chelsea’s trip to Wembley to face rivals Tottenham next weekend.

The Spaniard missed the Blues’ shock defeat at home to Burnley on Saturday after picking up an ankle injury.

And boss Antonio Conte thinks Pedro could also miss the Spurs clash – adding to Chelsea’s current worries.

Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas must serve suspensions after being sent off against Burnley at Stamford Bridge, where the champions lost 3-2 and ended the match with nine men.

Eden Hazard and new signing Tiemoui Bakayoko are currently unavailable with ankle and knee problems respectively, and Alvaro Morata needs to improve his fitness.

Speaking to reporters after the Burnley game, Conte said: “In the next game, I don’t know if Pedro is able to recover from his injury.

“But for sure we’ll have two players out for bans, Cahill and Fabregas. We’ll find the right solution.”

The dismissals against Burnley continued a worrying trend for Conte’s side.

They were without Victor Moses, who was suspended after being sent off in the FA Cup final against Arsenal, while Pedro was red-carded during the recent Community Shield game against the Gunners.

Conte said: “You can see it in the last three official games, we finished with 10 men.

“When it happens with regularity you must be worried.”
