Chelsea star hints he’s ready to follow Cahill and ask for move

Andreas Christensen has hinted that he will seek a move if he is unable to reclaim his place in the Chelsea side.

Blues boss Maurizio Sarri has made Toni Rudiger and David Luiz his first-choice centre-back pairing this season, leaving Denmark international Christensen and Gary Cahill on the fringes.

Former England skipper Cahill has already said he will look to leave Stamford Bridge if he is still out of favour in January.

And Christensen has suggested to Danish media that he is ready to do the same.

Having been a regular for Chelsea last season and spent the previous two campaigns playing on loan at German club Borussia Mönchengladbach, Christensen is in no mood to be a back-up defender.

“It has been a hard season. To be honest, it has been very difficult,” Christensen has been quoted as saying.

“Now I’m 22 years old and I really want to play. In the last three seasons I’ve played, so it’s clear that I do not see me staying if my current situation is also in the future.

“It’s too early to talk about when to change, if I’m going to change, but it is clear that it is not a good situation for me.”
