Burnley v Chelsea: Blues changes expected, Clarets star could return

Chelsea will give Eden Hazard every chance to prove his fitness for Sunday’s Premier League trip to Burnley.

Hazard missed Thursday’s 3-1 Europa League win over BATE Borisov at Stamford Bridge with a back problem, but boss Maurizio Sarri remains hopeful the Belgium forward could be back in time for the Turf Moor trip.

Ethan Ampadu is likely to remain sidelined through knee trouble, with Sarri expected to restore his first-choice line-up.

Provisional squad: Kepa, Caballero, Rudiger, Alonso, Fabregas, Jorginho, Kante, Barkley, Hazard, Pedro, Moses, Kovacic, Giroud, Zappacosta, Willian, Cahill, Christensen, Azpilicueta, Morata, Luiz, Emerson Palmieri, Loftus-Cheek, Hudson-Odoi, Bulka.

Burnley midfielder Robbie Brady comes into contention for the first time this season after a hamstring problem.

Winger Aaron Lennon has been laid low by a sickness bug, so will be monitored.

Defender Ben Gibson is stepping up his recovery from a hernia, while goalkeeper Nick Pope (shoulder) and Stephen Ward (knee) continue their rehabilitation.

Provisional squad: Hart, Lowton, Taylor, Tarkowski, Mee, Cork, Gudmundsson, Hendrick, Defour, Lennon, Vokes, Heaton, Bardsley, Long, Westwood, Barnes, Wood, Vydra, Brady.
