Confirmed: Arsenal defender Holding facing long spell out with ACL injury

Arsenal defender Rob Holding has been ruled out for six to nine months after the club confirmed he has ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

The worst was feared after Holding suffered the injury during the first half of Wednesday’s 2-2 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford.

A statement on Arsenal.com read: “Rob will undergo surgery to repair this in the coming days.

“Everyone at the club will now be working as hard as we can to ensure Rob is back on the pitch as soon as possible.”
