Jack Wilshere is back in the Arsenal side for the game at the Amex Stadium.
Wilshere, who has been nursing an ankle problem, missed Thursday’s 3-0 defeat against Manchester City.
Alex Iwobi and Calum Chambers also start for the Gunners, who are without Nacho Monreal and Alexandre Lacazette.
Hector Bellerin drops to the bench along with Danny Welbeck, while Aaron Ramsey is not in the matchday squad.
Brighton, meanwhile, are without Steve Sidwell. The Seagulls are unchanged from their recent 4-1 win against Swansea.
