Paper round-up: Arsenal could move for Brazilian forward

Arsenal boss Unai Emery is considering a £15m move for Club Brugge striker Wesley Moraes in January, The Sun say.

Fiorentina and Valencia are also said to be keen on the 22-year-old Brazilian, who has been tipped to move on when the transfer window opens having impressed in Belgium.

Wesley has a long-term deal with Brugges, where he is under contract until 2023.

But the club could reportedly be tempted to cash in with a decent offer and reports in Belgium have suggested that several European sides are monitoring developments.

Emery is reported to be looking to add competition for strikers Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette following the injury suffered by Danny Welbeck.

Meanwhile, the Daily Telegraph reports that Mick McCarthy will try to convince West Ham star Declan Rice not to switch his international allegiance from the Republic of Ireland to England.

McCarthy has returned for a second spell as Ireland boss and will need to resolve the uncertainty over Rice, who can still play for the country of his birth as he has only played for the Republic in friendly matches.

Jordon Mutch, on loan at Major League Soccer side Vancouver Whitecaps from Crystal Palace, could be set for a surprise return to his former club Cardiff City.

The Sun say the Bluebirds are interested in re-signing the midfielder, who has been out of favour at Palace for some time.

And The Guardian reports that the kitchen at Palace’s training ground was given a zero food-hygiene rating after inspectors found it had been infested with mice.
